Mariano Mellino returns to his old amigos at Darkroom Dubs to immerse us in the dark art of murkery. Deep weaves of mystifying mist laced around the beats, a powerful sense of the unknown; creepy, spine-tingling, tightly coiled in latent tension… ‘Murk’ more than lives up to its name and reminds us why Mariano keeps returning to Silicone Soul’s label.

It’s backed by the equally tense and evocative ‘Mubarak’. Another deep, driving narrative from the Argentinian producer, here the hypnosis can be found locked into the bulbous palpitating bass/kick arrangement while a chorus of ghostly pads harmonise in the background, just out of focus. Trippy, eerie, unhurried; this captures the essence of what Darkroom Dubs is truly all about.

There’s plenty more where this came from, too… Mariano’s single will be followed very soon by new material from the label bosses Silicone Soul themselves. Stay tuned.
