They’re back! Silicone Soul march from the shadows with some long-awaited new material. Come on, we’ll take you there.

Of course they never actually went away: their label Darkroom Dubs has remained the tour de force it’s always been since it launched in 2003. They remain just as in-demand as touring DJs, too. But life doing what it does best (getting in the way of doing cool stuff) has prevented Silicone Soul from doing what they do best (make music). Until now.

‘Fahrenheit 625’ raises the heat on Darkroom Dubs seminal Traxx series. Tailored for low-lights and lower-ceilings, it’s their darkest sonic laboratory and the perfect home for this comeback thumper. Stripped-back, heads-down grit noir with a juicy, thumping bassline, a vocal from one of the greatest house conjurors of all time and some devilishly trippy elements, ‘Fahrenheit 625’ is heavy and gets straight to the point. An unabashed statement of comeback intent from Craig and Graeme, it leaves us wanting more.

Remix-wise Mexican techno maestro Theus Mago links up with continental cousin ld!r for a subversive excursion, where a whole new top-line spirals in and out of focus with raffishly funky results. Finally, Argentina’s Shall Ocin dusts off some majestic organ chords, whips up a snake-like synth-line straight out of 1999 but bites like it’s 2029. It sounds like the future, but at the speed, we’re all hurling, we’ll be there before we know it. March, come on, we’ll take you there.
